December 2, 2022
Overthink co-hosts Ellie Anderson and David Peña-Guzmán interview Cristina Ruotolo as part of their series on the five senses. Dr. Ruotolo is the author of Sounding Real: Musicality and American Literature at the Turn of the Twentieth Century, and has done extensive work on American music, society, and culture; she is also trained as a violinist and chamber musician. We discuss the relation of sound to attention, and how ways of listening to music have changed over time.
